I am a 27 years old guy currently attending school in Connecticut for a Computer Programming degree. I have lived in Connecticut most of my life, except for a few years (when I was in first grade, in Texas) when I joined the Navy. Spent my four year hitch, except for bootcamp in Florida, in Norfolk, Virginia.
I have been involved in music since 1978, when I joined the Portland Ancients Fife & Drum Corp, in Portland, Connecticut. I have played as a member of the Portland Ancients, Nayaug Ancients from Glastonbury, the 3rd Connecticut Regiment from East Hampton, Sherman's March from Moodus, and the Deep River Senior Ancients from Deep River.
Probably the person that most influenced me to start drumming (besides the beats going on in my head), was Peter Criss, and by extension, the band KISS themselves.
My musical tastes are extremely varied, but my favorite band is KISS. I have a large collection of music that has been updated somewhat as the years have gone by. I have albums, tapes, and CDs from a wide range of groups. I even have what I consider oldies; music that my mother and father listened to when they were kids. A few of the groups/artists that I have albums (or tapes or CDs) from in my collection are ZZ-Top, Metallica, Marillion, Pink Floyd, Quiet Riot, White Lion, Billy Squier, RUN D. M. C., Aerosmith, Sea of Souls (local band from Virginia), and of course, KISS. I also have quite a few movie soundtrack albums, like Dragnet, Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, Dream A Little Dream, and That Thing You Do!. Although I don't have any classical albums, I do listen to it on occasion, if it is playing on the radio.
I have been involved with computers since 6th grade, with a TRS-80 that the school had, and a Timex Sinclair at home, and I have moved up since then. My current aspirations are to get a job either as a computer programmer or systems administrator.
And that's about it. You now know a little about me, a little about why I am the way I am. Like it or not, it's me.
